Our view of ministry in the local church can be likened to a trellis and a vine. Every vine requires a trellis—a structure—to grow vibrantly. Otherwise, the vine will begin to grow unhealthy, lacking both direction and support. A trellis without a vibrant vine, however, is just a bare, lifeless structure. Our philosophy of ministry at RBC Nashville is to provide just enough trellis to give direction to and support a vibrant vine—nothing more, nothing less. Accordingly, our ministry focus is rooted primarily in developing people, not programs. Our desire is to foster a culture in which thoroughly equipped, self-replicating disciples of Jesus Christ move toward one another in love and wisdom, bear one another’s burdens, build up the body of Christ, and scatter to model and speak the Gospel where they live, work and play.
